~~Ultra-cute-sound~~

Today we “met” our daughter for the first time!

It was a magical moment that will live forever in our hearts as they day we fell deeper in love with our little “bean”

She is AMAZING… if we don’t say so ourselves 🙂

We drove through some of the worst weather of the year thus far - visibility was poor and traffic was crawling the whole way into downtown… COMING SOON VIDEO!

We arrived at the ultrasound clinic at 8:30am.

After registering for a Mount Sinai hospital card and checking in we waited (with the many other couples) for our tech.  After about 7mins she arrived to welcome us into the suite.

The first question we were asked is “Do you want to know the sex of your baby?”

Originally I was wanting it to be a surprise and a couple months into the pregnancy I had an overwhelming sense that she was… well… a SHE!  I felt so strongly about it that I wore all pink today 🙂

Blair was playing devil’s advocate and saying it was a boy this morning as we got dressed – reminding me that I was wearing BLUE jeans… and “it’s all in the jeans!!”

Nothing tops a woman’s intuition!!

Our ultrasound tech was a nice Russian lady who at a few points made comments like; “Very good baby!” when little “bean” opened her had to show us her fingers 😉 and “Baby says all is OK!” when she was giving us the thumbs up before popping it in her mouth for a suckle!

That had to be the most wonderful part – seeing her!!  Moving, sucking her hands & thumbs, and best of all her little heart beating so powerfully.

The tech was very attentive and made sure to include Blair in everything.  At one point near the end she left the room to check with the doctor to make sure she got all she needed… and at that point said, “To me it looks like girl – but I will confirm when I come back.”

Blair snapped this shot when she was gone & I was relaxing on my left side!

He was over the moon with excitement and I couldn’t help but smile when I looked at him!!

When the tech returned she needed a couple more shots and then we were done.

She once again confirmed her belief that it was a girl and congratulated us as we left the room.

We were in there for about an hour… and we really felt like parents for the first time… we just can’t wait to meet her!!
